Without a doubt the fire horror stories are being broadcast all over the world so a quick update from burpengary.
Firstly, all is good here. It is very warm with temperatures up to 40c and night temperatures that beat a good Dutch summer day.
However despite the heat, we are managing ok. Not much construction on our patio roof though....
There is a lot of smoke in the air from the fires at a nearby Island. Very uncomfortable but the people over there have much more to complain about.
The weirdest thing was the storms last night. there were warnings for local flash flooding about 200 km away as they received 60mm rain in 60 minutes. At the same time, there are major fires, just 50 km in the other direction.
I had a little hope that we would get some rain too but the clouds were empty before reaching burpengary :-(
wish we could swap some of the Dutch rain for the Aussie heat and everyone would be much happier.
