Only days before we were supposed to take off in the van to see our friends up north, Orenda became very lame. Of course we had hoped for it to get better but on Monday morning she was still limping around and it was decided to take her to the vet.
Good news; it wasn't anything too serious. Just a hoof infection but it had to be cut out and needs daily cleaning and bandaging. She also has to come back in two weeks for more cutting (it was too painful at the time). Anyway, it didn't feel right to have Tracey do all that so we decided to cancel our trip and stay home.
A pity but what can you do but laugh and have a wine ???
My holiday was spent with friends, visiting Gucci at the trainer's place and taking some great video of her as well as helping out a friend with her horses. Oh, and yes, my horses got attention too!
The last few days we have also started work on our replacement patio cover. We are nowhere near completed yet so photos will have to wait.
And believe it or not, today we actually decided to take a day off and go to the beach. We started off with going to the Eumundi markets. Very popular tourist markets on the sunshine coast. It was ok but it once again confirmed that we are just not into that things much so that was the markets for a long time. But hey, at least we have finally been there.
After a coffee, we drove on to the beach. Peregian beach on the sunshine coast was not only beautiful but also quiet. It was a beautiful day for it, blue skies and sunny but not too hot yet. Lunch at a french bistro and then a walk over the beach. We even found a snake on the beach which appeared to be a sea snake so we helped it back into the water. Having been thrown around with a stick, I believe it must have a terrible headache though!
